Float co-op idea

I have been dreaming of finding someplace to get a float tank set up here where I live (in Boise, Idaho), since there has not been a place to float here for 12+ years (that I know of). I was thinking a few years ago that it might work well to establish a "float co-op", where a group of people pool resources and purchase a tank, a space to put it, and the needed accouterments (shower, towels, etc). Everyone pays monthly dues to help cover costs, everyone agrees to respect the rules (always shower well beforehand, keep the tank clean, etc.) This would be ideal in many ways:

1) Less cost
2) Most people I know currently have no place to locate a tank @ home
3) Getting to share the float experience with others! Share the love! :)

Of course there are potential downsides, especially if some of the people involved want to bail out, but with a fair contractual agreement much of these risks could be mitigated. There are also some legal risks if someone were to drown or somehow hurt themselves in the tank, but this might be able to be addressed by creating a LLP and/or having everyone sigh legal waivers. I'd want to stick to people I know I could trust, and who are responsible for their own actions. In many ways it would be the same as any other commercial float center, but just not-for-profit.

Has anyone here tried this float co-op idea before?

Any ideas or thoughts?

thanks!
